Last week our annual “Best of EMBA UZH” Refresher took place and EMBA Alumni and Alumnae from many graduating classes joined the event to learn about cutting edge research from two of our EMBA lecturers – Prof. David Oesch and Prof. Sven Henkel. Sven`s exploration of hyper-personalized advertising reveals the fine line between relevance and discomfort, while David's analysis of the Benko/Signa Group crash highlights the critical importance of financial health and the impact of macroeconomic factors. Thought-provoking lessons in both marketing and financial analysis and a fantastic opportunity to meet again and network with the alumni community!
An Unforgettable Week of Innovation: EMBA UZH in Helsinki!
Last week, the EMBA UZH cohort embarked on an extraordinary journey to Helsinki, Finland—the Nordic epicenter of innovation, sustainability, cutting-edge technology, and happiness! (Finland was again crowned the happiest country in the world for the seventh consecutive year in 2024). Despite having a population smaller than New York City, Finland has produced an impressive array of multinational companies, and we had the privilege of visiting several of them. This transformative Learning Expedition was brimming with inspiration, insights, and unforgettable experiences—all in the company of some truly happy and visionary people.
Last week, we had the opportunity to visit the flying Swiss Army knife. Dufour Aerospacedevelops and builds so-called eVTOLs. The Aero2, which can take off and land vertically like a helicopter, flies as fast and energy-efficient as an airplane thanks to its unique tilt-wing design. The platform is designed for numerous applications, offering maximum flexibility and the highest safety standards at low operating costs.
The ability to transport up to 40 kg of payload over 400 km in standard configuration makes the aircraft the perfect tool for any mission.

During the recent graduation ceremony of the Executive MBA University of Zurich we celebrated the success of our graduates and particularly the achievements of our outstanding EMBA students who won the „Best overall Student“ and „Most Innovative Thesis“ awards.

In the Executive MBA UZH with Focus on Digital Transformation the “Best overall Student” award went to Michael Schümperli, Senior Manager Development at Roche Diagnostics International AG.
Die Abschlussfeier des Executive MBA UZH war der feierliche Höhepunkt eines inspirierenden und transformativen Studienprogramms. 51 EMBA UZH-Absolventinnen und -Absolventen kamen mit ihren Familien und Freunden in der Aula der Universität Zürich zusammen, um ihre wohlverdienten Diplome entgegenzunehmen und diese Leistung gebührend zu feiern.
Heute Abend werden die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer des EMBA-Lehrgangs 2022-2024 ihre wohlverdienten Abschlussurkunden in Empfang nehmen.
Wir gratulieren zu dieser ausserordentlichen Leistung und wünschen ihnen für die private und berufliche Zukunft alles Gute.
Kate Ohbaidze has worked in HR and Leadership Development roles for over seven years. She’s led cross-cultural teams of experts and consultants to help improve communication both internally and with clients; she leads by example as a Diversity and Inclusion ambassador.
Kate exemplifies the adage “be the change you want to see in the world.” Since being stranded in Switzerland at the onset of the Ukraine war and choosing to settle here, she worked tirelessly to aid those affected by the conflict. Collaborating with charities, she facilitated relocation, provided housing, transportation, and relief assistance.
